 The ANVR was founded in 1966 and is the Dutch Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators and represents the whole Dutch travel industry. The congress is ANVR’s annual event and distinguished speakers from the tourism industry and other related areas are invited to accompany and address the delegates. Malta was chosen as the destination for this year’s congress and Air Malta was appointed the official carrier. The group of around 240 participants made up of representatives from Dutch travel agents, tour operators and group organisers travelled to Malta to participate in this congress from October 2-5th. These meetings were also well attended by representatives from the Dutch media.

On Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th of September a new initiative was co-organized by Air Malta, the Embassy of Malta in Belgium and the Malta Tourism Authority Benelux.
An intimate dinner was organized at the residence of Ambassador Pierre Clive Agius in Brussels. The objective of the evenings was to invite guests that could become new/potential clients for Malta and also existing clients were invited to express our appreciation and trust they have in the destination.
Among guests were several niche touroperators as well as important MICE agents and several associations such as the EPTDA who have confirmed a large conference in Malta next year. The evenings were a success and very much appreciated by the invitees who really got to know “Maltese hospitality” through this event. |
